The Lydia United Methodist Church celebrated 150 years of ministry in the year of 2006. We are very thankful for the families that started this church back in its day. There has been many of hard working days to make Lydia what it is today.

On August 20th, 2006 we had a celebration at church celebrating this special milestone. The day stated off with a Special Service at 10:30 AM. Our Bishop Sally Dyck gave us the word for the day. There was special music and the church was full of people. After the service was over we went outside to a beautiful day. We had set up a large tent in the parking lot with seating for many people. We were served a ham dinner with all the fixings. After the dinner we had a quilt auction. The money that was raised from the quilts went towards the expenses of the day and also money was given to different areas of the church. At 1:30 PM we had a Recoginazing Former Pastors service. We had a number of former pastors that were able to be there with us on this special day. All the pastors were given a time to speak to us. After this service we all went to the front of the church to take a large group picture of everyone that was here that day. Following the picture we all went back inside for another special service of Rededication of Purpose. We had our District Superintendent Cindy Gregorson speak to us. The day was a huge success and we thank all that came out for it. Below you can see some pictures from this special day.

Pictured above are 4 members of the Hines family. They travelled from Pennsylvania and Iowa to be with us on this special day. We were so blessed that they could be a part of this celebration.
